What is a certified Gîte du PassantTM (Bed & Breakfast, B&B)?
 
Guest bedroom with breakfast reflecting the flavours of the region. In the country, on a farm, in the suburbs or in the city, this establishment has up to 5 guest rooms available. The Bed and Breakfast on a farm (Gîte du Passant à la Ferme certifié) also offers farm-related activities. Minimum classification: 3 suns.
 
In addition to this definition, a Gîte du Passant (Bed & Breakfast, B&B) is first and foremost a label of quality or a brand name that only bed & breakfasts, B&B and tourist gîtes that have been certified by the Association de l’Agrotourisme et du Tourisme Gourmand du Québec (formerly the Fédération des Agricotours du Québec),have the right to use. This label of quality is granted to the best bed & breakfasts in Québec.  More specifically, to have the right to use the name Gîte du Passant (Bed & Breakfast, B&B), the bed & breakfast, B&B or tourist gîte must not only be classified with a minimum of 3 suns, but their owners must also meet strict standards for quality and ethics on a continuing basis and respect the promise given to our customers.
